The seventh-generation BMW 7 Series made its global debut earlier this year and is a huge step up from its predecessor in terms of performance and technology. Based on the CLAR platform, it’s more luxurious than its predecessor while the design language has undergone a major change with a massive new kidney grille and eye-catching split headlamps. The flat bonnet and sharp edges preserve the saloon’s elongated silhouette. The styling elements are similar on the i7 but the latter is different with blue accents. BMW offers a variety of 20-inch alloy wheels on the new 7 Series with the option to upgrade to 21-inch wheels.

The cockpit represents a major design overhaul compared to current BMW models. The new Live Cockpit Plus brings dual screens on the dashboard. The 12.3-inch digital dashboard and 14.9-inch infotainment screen have a curved screen and are a seamless piece of glass. The unit uses the latest iDrive 8 user interface and features a new interactive bar with capacitive touch controls for ventilation and climate control functions.

More notable upgrades have been made to the rear with the standout feature being an optional 31.3-inch 8K theater monitor. Cinema screens flip down from the roof at the touch of a button and come with streaming connectivity to let you watch your favorite shows on the go. The interior is also highlighted with impressive details, leather seats and new-age materials and many play motifs. The new 7 Series and i7 have 18 in-car speakers as standard with four built into the headlights for full 4D audio functionality.

The new generation BMW 7 Series for the Indian market is expected to arrive with three engine options. This could include a 3.0-liter inline-six diesel with 295 hp. There’s also a 3.0-liter inline-six petrol with 375 hp and a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 535 hp. Moving on to the BMW i7, this model will come with a 101.7 kWh battery pack that promises a range of 590-625 km (WLTP Cycle) on a single charge. India will likely get the xDrive 60 variant with two electric motors making a total of 536 hp.
