New Ferrari SP51 once launched

The 812 GTS already a rather rare supercar, but for those looking for an authentic supercar Ferrari, then SP51 will rotate more heads. As you probably know, the SP51 was based on the 812 GTS, before going to the Ferrari Styling Center where it received a lot of design changes.

The SP51 joins several other Ferraris created by the ‘Special Projects’ division. We first saw a commission model made by the in-house design team in 2008 with the P540 Superfast Aperta based on the 599 and then perhaps more famously the SP12 EC (EC stands for owner). owner Eric Clapton) using 458 Italia as the base. More recently, Special Projects has been working on SP1 and SP2, overall comparison of 499 units produced.

Since it’s a commission, the SP51 already has a home – “customers in Taiwan” as much as we said – so you can’t buy it. However, Ferrari is clearly proud enough of its work to share the new car with the public as the brand says it is “the pinnacle of Ferrari’s range and customization range”.

Although the exterior has undergone many changes, Ferrari says the SP51’s “aerodynamics need to be meticulously honed to ensure maximum comfort in the cabin”. There are new headlights, bumpers, bonnet and air intakes at the front, and aside, the surface has been reshaped. There are also carbon fiber vents behind the front wheels.

The back of the SP51 still has the typical four round light units, although they are a new design. The trailer is clearer and more similar to the one found on hardcores Competitors Models. The bumper has also been given a new look with a revised diffuser, although not as powerful as on the Competizione and Competizione A convertible variants. Inside, there’s a new shade of blue for the seats and dashboard with white stitching, along with additional use of carbon fiber.

Underpinning the SP51 is the same powertrain found in the 812 GTS. Ferrari hasn’t said whether external tweaks will affect the performance of the 6.5-litre 789bhp V12, naturally aspirated, though we still expect 0-62mph times under 3 seconds and top speed over 200mph.
