New Classic Sports Car Coming Soon

Porsche has been spotted testing what could be the next addition in its growing range of Heritage Design classics.

The series was released in 2020 with the appearance of 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design and expanded earlier this year with 911 Sport Classicwith both based on the current 992 generation 911. The next installment in the series is said to be a modern take on the 1971 911 2.5 S/T race car.

Prototypes in our latest spy footage look similar to testers for 911 GT3 Touring, though there are unique elements like the dual-bubble roof that Porsche also used on the 911 Sport Classic, as well as a new front fender vent design hidden beneath the temporary cladding. There’s also a small spoiler attached to the standard integrated rear spoiler of the 911, and a circular engine cover similar to the one that bears the “Porsche Heritage” inscription on the 911 Sport Classic.

While the 911 Sport Classic is based on the 911 Turbo S, the 911 GT3 Touring that underpins the modern 911 S/T fits right in with what was originally a lightweight, track-focused model developed for customer races. row. It was first offered in late 1971 and was only available in limited quantities.

And while the 911 Sport Classic has expanded mechanical mods over the 911 Turbo S from which it originated, we don’t expect the same for the 911 S/T. This means it’s likely to stay the same. the 911 GT3 Touring’s 4.0-liter engine and the engine’s 502-horsepower rating. The 911 GT3 Touring offers a choice between a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic or a six-speed manual transmission, and may only be fitted with a manual for the 911 S/T to match the vehicle’s classic positioning.

Expected to launch in early 2023. Soon after, Porsche is expected to introduce another model in the Heritage Design line. According to a report from last year, this additional model will be a modern take on the special edition Carrera RS 2.7 of 1973, suggesting that it could be based on 911 GT3 RS coming soon. Keep stable.
