Alfa Romeo will provide a fully electric launch in 2027, but before the brand transitions to electric vehicles, it could launch some special commemorative products that celebrate Alfa’s history with the internal combustion engine – and the first car will be an ICE electric sports two-seater inspired by the brand’s past performance icons.
Speaking to Auto Express, Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato hinted at an entirely special internal combustion engine. sport car projects that we will see next year, whose styling may be inspired by historic Alfas, such as the iconic 33 Stradale: “Alfa is sport. The brand’s boss is also quick to point out that Alfa has just abandoned its deal with Formula 1 for next season, so based on its connection to Sauber-run F1 activity, the new car could be powered power from the twin 2.9 liter -turbo V6 as used in the brand Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio performance models.

Alfa won’t stop at sports cars, as the brand has plans for more special, limited-run models. When asked about the potential of these, Imparato said: “The answer is yes. We have to be transparent and consistent, let me just say I’m not going to do any new GTA specials. We have sold 500 cars and we will honor this commitment of its kind. We won’t attract customers with a new special on GTA every year, so I won’t do that.
“Having said that, if the question is are you making some very specific, high-level offer, then the answer is yes.”
