New 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor storm with more than 400bhp


Here’s the new Ford Bronco Raptor, a heavy-duty version of the brand’s best-selling new SUV designed to inject some of the appeal of off-road performance into Bronco lined up.

Developed by Ford Performance, the Bronco Raptor is equipped with a significantly revised chassis with a higher ground clearance and a wider track than the regular Bronco. Final power numbers are yet to be confirmed, but Ford claims that the Bronco Raptor will produce around 400 hp.

A tweaked version of Bronco’s regular steel-frame chassis is paired with new taller shock absorbers and what Ford claims are the competitor’s front and rear axles, used on the Bronco raid car. DR. These axles extend the run by 218mm, while the Bronco Raptor’s minimum stroke height is 332mm, an increase of 122mm.

Semi-active dampers with front and rear specific adjustment are fitted and adjusted by sensors in each corner of the vehicle, monitoring suspension conditions and height to adjust the suspension when move. New front and rear handlebars allow for better suspension travel, while the Bronco Raptor is fitted with 37-inch all-terrain tires from BFGoodrich, wrapped around 17-inch wheels.

Additional underbody protection is another key component. Heavy-duty fenders and skids cover the front bumper, engine, transmission and transmission. Body strengthening has been done in the B-pillar and C-pillar for greater rigidity.

Power is provided by a new 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that develops around 400 hp and is linked to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Ford has integrated seven driving modes into the Bronco Raptor, including a new ‘Baja mode’ for maximum off-road performance, with optimized anti-lag for the turbocharger.

The makeover comes complete with more aggressive styling that makes the most of the wider track and raised ride height, while Bronco Raptor owners will be able to utilize the car’s modular body system, Remove and add doors, roof panels and accessories as they see fit. .
