Nets’ Kyrie Irving is way better at basketball than at Twitter

Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are said to be a hardwood generation duo. Three years later, Durant has lived up to our expectations, but Irving hasn’t closed his deal yet. Even on social media, Durant runs around Kyrie. Durant and Kyrie have too much free time. Wife, kids and playoffs are not their concern.

But the way they interact on social media couldn’t be more different. What’s different is that Kyrie imagines herself as a world philosopher. He was constantly giving lectures to anyone who would hear about the vices of society, but from the shallow perspective of a master who possessed the confidence of an engineer. No one is asking him to shut up and cheat, but at least bring some substance to the table.

On Monday, Kyrie shared his thoughts on living on Mother Earth, where he believe is flat.

Huh?

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume there’s some deeper thinking about affordable and inflated rents running through his nimble mind. However, Twitter has never been the best medium for him to use to communicate. He’s not cool or funny enough, and he becomes a leader when trying to be witty and short. He’s the NBA’s hashtag activity king, but has no followers.

Meanwhile, Durant is a basketball Buddhist. It’s all love and sometimes some blunt factual talk. Emphasis on the blunt part, because he must have gotten fat this weekend while distributing the sage life and giving advice to his overzealous followers.

Durant briefly mocked CBS’s Seth Davis college insider and offered a tough arm to media analysts, but it’s out of respect.

He talked about doubles teams, telling one watcher, “I think whoever I pass has to make you pay. Not a single guy.”

He humbly laughed at things that used Kobe to belittle him: “Lol Kobe was a champion player, the man who cut it off”

Durant even came across some rhetoric discussing the biased information silos of the sports media. hat is a frequent view, particularly relevant in our current political climate.

Durant posed the biggest problem with the definition of “leader” as it pertains to himself and his NBA colleagues in the superstar class.

That’s not a surprise from a man who evaded the nickname “Slim Reaper” to be called “Servant”. During the time of stocking up on his mate’s vaccine, it’s clear that this season he doesn’t have it on hand to lead Kyrie.

But for the most part, he seems to be in a good place even as NBA fans are returning to dissect whether he is even needed on those championship Warriors teams. When it comes to communication, Durant can show Kyrie the ropes.
