Netflix’s Kaleidoscope Wants You To Join Its Thrilling Non-Linear Heist Plot
The official trailer for Netflix’s Kaleidoscope has arrived online – and the streamer wants you to solve the dramatic heist puzzle as part of the fun.
Kaleidoscope’s latest teaser, which you can check out below, provides more context on the upcoming season Netflix plot of the series. The most compelling aspect of the crime thriller, however, is the way it actively engages viewers in its story, with audiences being asked to figure out the broader mystery before they reach the end. of the series.
First, check out the official Kaleidoscope trailer:
Looks fun, doesn’t it? Yes, that’s just the beginning.
How is that? Because Kaleidoscope not only wants you to be actively involved in solving the mystery behind the theft, but you also have to figure out how and why it happened in a unique non-linear order.
You see, Kaleidoscope is not your traditional crime show. When the series premieres on January 1, 2023, anyone who uploads it will be assigned all eight episodes — set 25 years before the heist to six months later — in random sequence. The only thing every viewer will have in common is that the episode White (aka the date of the robbery) is the last episode that everybody will stream online.
Here’s a quick recap of the Kaleidoscope episodes. Remember, this is not the exact order in which you will view them. Some of you will start with Red, others will start with Purple, and so on:
- Violet: 24 years before the robbery
- Green: 7 years before the robbery
- Yellow: 6 weeks before the robbery
- Orange: 3 weeks before the robbery
- Blue: 5 days before the robbery
- Red: The morning after the theft
- Pink: 6 months later
- White: The Heist, aka the end of the epic story
It will then be your job to figure out what happens during the heist, why some characters make the decisions they make when the heist takes place, and which individuals (if any) end up betraying them. Their teammates are based on what you witness in other episodes. All the clues are provided in other entries of the show, so lovers of Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot will need to pay close attention to what’s displayed on the screen, every line of dialogue uttered. , etc
We have previously suggested that Kaleidoscope is an ambitious television experiment let Netflix proceed, and the show’s latest trailer only reinforces our point in that regard. We suspect that Kaleidoscope won’t take long to make it to our list. Best Netflix show list and, based on what we’ve seen, we think a lot of crime and heist thriller enthusiasts will want to check it out.
