Need Lakshmi, Ganesh Photos On Currency, Says Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to put images of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh on the new banknotes.
In his appeal, he said that the new banknotes may feature images of Mahatma Gandhi on one side and images of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh on the other.
Mr. Kejriwal said that having images of the two gods on the banknotes would help the country prosper.
“Despite our efforts, sometimes our efforts fail if the gods and goddesses do not bless us. I urge Prime Minister Modi to post pictures of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi in the newspaper. our money,” he said.
Mr. Kejriwal cited the example of Indonesia – a Muslim country that has the image of Lord Ganesh on its banknotes. “When Indonesia can, why can’t we? The photos can be printed on new sticky notes,” he said.
The image of Lord Ganesh is printed on the 20,000 rupiah bill of Indonesia.
The head of the Aam Aadmi Party said he would write to the Prime Minister about this in the next few days.
He said the country was facing a “delicate” situation with the rupee falling against the US dollar.
“We need the help of the almighty beyond our efforts to stabilize the economic condition of the country,” said Mr. Kejriwal.
When asked about the upcoming election in which Aam Aadmi Party is participating, Mr. Kejriwal said his party is fully prepared for citizenship elections in the national capital and parliamentary elections in Gujarat.
The chief minister of Delhi also praised the people for the reduction in pollution levels of this Diwali city. “We want to make Delhi the city with the cleanest air,” he said.
