NBA: Warriors outfinish Nuggets, grab 3-0 series edge
Stephen Curry and Jordan Poole each scored 27 points, Klay Thompson added 26, and the visitors Golden State Warriors beat the Denver Nuggets 118-113 on Thursday night to take a 3-0 lead in the first-round playoffs of the United States. Western Conference.
Gary Payton II has 11 points and Draymond Green finished with 10 assists for Golden State, which could close Sunday’s series in Denver.
Nikola Jokic had 37 points and 18 rebounds for the Nuggets, which have lost seven consecutive playoffs since last season. Aaron Gordon added 18 points and 12 rebounds, Will Barton scored 13 and Monte Morris had 10.
The Warriors took a 97-93 lead for four minutes into the fourth inning, but Gordon hit a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 7:50.
Thompson added a 3-pointer and Andre Iguodala converted the 3-point play to take Golden State to 103-99.
Jokic scored six Denver points next and Jeff Green made two free throws to end the game at 107 with 4:27 remaining.

Curry and Gordon exchanged two free throws before Jokic’s control finger gave the Nuggets a 111-109 lead with 3:20 left, but the Warriors then took the lead.
Andrew Wiggins hit a 3-pointer in the corner from time-out to put Golden State ahead, Poole made it 114-111 with a drive and Curry increased the lead to five with 40.8 seconds left.
Denver missed three shots and made two returns as the Warriors pulled away.
The Nuggets finished the game at 45 midway through the second half, but Golden State went on with a 16-4 lead to 12 with 4:01 left in the half. Denver was trailed by Jokic in the round of four, but the Warriors scored the final six points of the half – on three points and three points – to take a 69-59 lead.
The Nuggets opened the third quarter 11-2 to hit a point. Thompson hit a 3-pointer before Denver responded with another run, capped by two hounds, to take an 80-75 lead.
Golden State scored the next seven points to regain the lead. Bones Hyland’s 3-pointer tied it at 85, and the Nuggets led 89-87 in the fourth inning.
