NBA: Tyrese Haliburton propels Pacers past Hornets
Tyrese Haliburton had 22 points in a duel between two young point guards to help the Indiana Pacers win 125-113 over the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night.
Haliburton also recorded 11 assists and had a role in ruining his home debut of the season for point guard Charlotte LaMelo Ball.
Indiana’s Myles Turner had great moments on the road with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and sub Bennedict Mathurin also had 20 points. Buddy Hield added 19 points, Andrew Nembhard had 13 and Jalen Smith finished with 11 to take Indiana to its sixth title in the past eight games.
Ball finished with 26 points from a 10-to-17 shot from the field, making 5 of his 8 3-point attempts, along with 6 assists. But that is not enough to create consecutive victories for the Hornets, who have lost 9 of the past 10 games.

Then the visitors won eight points in a row, starting with four points from Smith.
When Haliburton took 3 points with 2:32 to play, the Pacers took a 115-106 lead. That ends 11 points for Indiana in two minutes.
The Hornets had a 13-point lead in the second half, but that gap almost disappeared after halftime. Charlotte took a 63-60 lead at halftime after Hield scored 5 points in the final 17 seconds.
