Toronto Raptors keeper Malachi Flynn is recovering from a left cheekbone injury.
He picked up the injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s pre-season game against the Utah Jazz in Edmonton, Alberta.
Flynn, 24, completed the concussion protocol and returned to the game, but post-game testing showed a crack.
He will wear a face shield and is expected to be ready for the October 19 season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Flynn has averaged 6.0 points, 2.3 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 91 games (19 starting games) since the Raptors discussed him in the first round (29 overall) in 2020.
