The 2022 Finals sequel can’t be as compelling as the original, can it? Antetokounmpo is letting go of his unlucky years and growing into his god-level leader and embodying the “no one can beat me but myself” attitude that has elevated Jordan, Kobe and LeBron before him. However, there have been 15 teams in NBA history that have lost in the NBA Finals and then won the next season. These Suns are more reminiscent of the 2014 Spurs, the team that ran it back with essentially the same roster, but with Kawhi Leonard in a more prominent role than the 2017 Warriors, who added Kevin Durant.
