NBA: Pacers rally past Bulls with second-half surge
Buddy Hield scored 27 points and Aaron Nesmith added 21 to take a six-player double lead and help the Indiana Pacers beat the Chicago Bulls 117-113 on Wednesday night in Indianapolis.
Indiana, leading by 24 points after one inning, ended a five-game losing streak while making Chicago lose its fifth game in a row.
Myles Turner had 17 points and 9 rebounds for the Pacers, while Tyrese Haliburton (16 points), Bennedict Mathurin (14) and Chris Duarte (14) followed.
A dramatic change from 3-point ground has benefited the Bulls, who shot just 19.4% from distance in their four games on Wednesday – the first team in league history to hit the mark. less than 20% shot rate over a four-game period with 100 or more attempts.
Chicago is 15 to 35 (42.9 percent) from a 3-point range on Wednesday. However, Indiana was also effective, going 18 to 43 (41.9%). The Pacers overcame the Bulls 75-55 after halftime.
Zach LaVine had 35 points and 11 rebounds for Chicago, while Coby White scored a season-high 25.

Nikola Vucevic had 19 points and seven rebounds as his double-double ended in nine games. Ayo Dosunmu scored 15 points and Patrick Williams scored 11 points. LaVine has 7 assists.
Indiana led the first game 92-90 in a Mathurin reversal with 8:51 remaining. The Bulls responded with Williams’ 3 pointer 39 seconds later before it was the Pacers’ turn to answer.
Chicago leads 58-42 after halftime.
LaVine (17 points) and White (12) ignited the Bulls’ attack while also contributing to their surprise attacks from long range. The Bulls picked up four 3-pointers in the first quarter, one more than in all of their home losses to Orlando on Monday, and collected six points in the first half.
Overall, the Bulls shot away 53.5% in the first half when they scored 17 points from the turns.
Chicago is excluded Top scorer DeMar DeRozan (thigh strain).
Pacers coach Rick Carlisle and Bulls counterpart Billy Donovan were both whistled for technical fouls during the game.
