NBA: Ja Morant’s triple-double halts Grizzlies’ skid, sinks Pacers

Following Ja Morant’s second three-time double, the Memphis Grizzlies recovered from 12 points dropped at halftime to claim the season’s highest five-game unbeaten streak with a 112-100 home win. in front of the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night.
Morant has 27 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds for his fifth double of the season. Jaren Jackson Jr. scored another 28 points and 8 bounces for the Grizzlies.
Ziaire Williams started for Desmond Bane (knee hurt) and had seven points and two rebounds for the Grizzlies. Brandon Clarke scored 13 points and made two rebounds for Steven Adams (knee sprain).
Xavier Tillman (9 points, 11 rebounds), David Roddy (11 points) and Tyus Jones (10 points) came off the bench for Memphis.

Bennedict Mathurin had 27 team-high points and 8 rebounds for Indiana. Aaron Nesmith scored 16 points and 5 rebounds, while Myles Turner added 15 points and 4 goals.
Andrew Nembhard (12 points) and Isaiah Jackson (13 points) played brilliantly on the bench for the Pacers. TJ McConnell was held to a goalless draw at the start for Tyrese Haliburton (knee, elbow sprain), who missed the 10th game in a row.
Indiana took a 32-23 lead in the first half, eight points behind Nesmith and Mathurin coming on from the bench nine points. Jackson contributed nine points in the opening half as Memphis shot just 15.4% (2 out of 13) from the three-point line.
The Pacers maintained a 52-35 lead with 5:31 to continue until halftime after a hot foul hit 60% from the field (18 of 30), including 42.9% (6 of 14) from behind the arc.
But Memphis overcame the Pacers 15-10 for the rest of the half and went into halftime 62-50 against the visitors. Morant and Jackson combined for 31 points in the first half of the Grizzlies.
An 18-2 run, preceded by a dribble from Morant to Jackson, ended the game 70-all with 4:35 to progress in the third inning. Memphis leads 80-79 with a quarter to play on Roddy jumper with 34 seconds to go.
A thunderous pitch from Morant took the lead 7-0 early in the fourth half and gave the Grizzlies an 87-79 lead with more than 10 minutes remaining.
