NBA: Hornets rally vs 76ers for rare win

Terry Rozier scored 22 points as the Charlotte Hornets won for the second time in their last 13 games, beating the visiting Philadelphia 76ers 107-101 on Wednesday night.
PJ Washington’s 19 points and Kelly Oubre Jr’s 14 points. also huge for the Hornets, who made just 6 of their 23 attempts from 3-pointers.
Nick Richards added 13 points, Jalen McDaniels and Mason Plumlee both had 11 points.
Shake Milton on 22, De’Anthony Melton on 20, Tobias Harris on 19 and Montrezl Harrell on 16 for the 76ers, who are trying to win a second straight night after beating the trip. visit Brooklyn on Tuesday night.

The Hornets resumed play without the injured LaMelo Ball point guard. 76ers, who shot only 9 to 38 in 3 seconds, except for Joel Embiid and James Harden who were injured.
The Hornets turned a 67-60 deficit into a 79-75 lead in the final seven minutes of the third half.
The 76ers made just five of their 25 shots from three-point range in three-quarters of the game, but they connected two of the first three long-range shots in the fourth quarter.

After Charlotte took a one-point lead, Theo Maledon scored consecutive dunks for the Hornets. Rozier’s jump in the 4:46 minute made it 93-84.
Charlotte resisted Philadelphia’s comeback attempt in part by scoring six out of seven possessions in the long run. Leading 99-97, Rozier scored two baskets 36 seconds apart.
However, Harris’ 3-point shot with 24.5 seconds to play shortened the gap to 104-100. Washington’s trick ended the game.
The 76ers took a 54-53 lead after halftime, making it 11 to 11 free throws. Charlotte had a 7 to 12 lead in the half.
Philadelphia rallied dozens of points in the first quarter and took a 13-point lead in the second before the Hornets bounced back. Charlotte’s last three goals in the half were three points from McDaniels, Washington and Rozier.
