NBA head referee admits missed call in Lakers-Celtics game
The referee in the Lakers’ 125-121 extra-time loss to the home team Boston Celtics on Saturday admitted that Los Angeles star LeBron James was fouled by Jayson Tatum in the final seconds of regulation time. .
As the game was drawing at 105-105, James drove to the basket and was apparently hit in the arm by Tatum as he attempted to make a left-handed swing. However, a foul was not called.

Lakers star Anthony Davis was merciless when discussing his displeasure with not being called up after the game.
“(Tatum) fouled him. He made a mistake with him. Clear. Obviously,” Davis said. “It is (discovery). … It’s not acceptable. And I guarantee nothing will happen to the referees. Honestly, we were fooled tonight. It was a blatant foul. … Honestly, that’s unacceptable. The referrals are bad. They played badly tonight.”
The Celtics took nearly twice as many free throws (39) as the Lakers (20) in the game.
James had 41 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the Lakers, who received 16 points and 10 rebounds from Davis. Patrick Beverley added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists as Los Angeles fell for the second time in three games.
