NBA: Hawks lead wire-to-wire in win over Raptors
Trae Young had 29 points and nine assists, and the visiting Atlanta Hawks led the game to beat the Toronto Raptors 114-103 on Saturday night.
Dejounte Murray added 27 points and eight rebounds for the Hawks, who led the two teams’ season-long series with a 2-1 scoreline.
AJ Griffin scored 13 points from the bench for the Hawks, which beat the Indiana Pacers on Friday. John Collins scored 11 points before fouling, De’Andre Hunter also scored 11 and Onyeka Okongwu had 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Scottie Barnes had 27 points and 12 rebounds for the Raptors, who finished the game 3-3. Pascal Siakam added 15 points before fouling. OG Anunoby scored 14 points, Precious Achiuwa also scored 14 and Chris Boucher scored 13.
The 17-led Hawks entered the fourth quarter.

The Raptors scored the first four points of the fourth quarter. Boucher’s 3-pointer took the lead down to nine with 8:24 to play. Hunter responds with a 3 pointer when 8:03 is left. Barnes has four points in a row, taking the lead down to eight with 5:47 remaining. Murray returned with four consecutive points. Boucher hit a 3 pointer to shorten the score to seven with 3:14 to play.
Siakam was charged with a sixth foul with 2:48 left and Young took both free throws to make the lead nine.
After taking an 18-point lead, the Hawks took a 34-25 lead after one inning.
The Raptors twice took a seven-point lead in the second half. The Hawks took a 13-point lead when Murray took two 4:37 free throws to play in the second half. Atlanta leads 69-57 after halftime.
Atlanta scored the first five points of the third quarter.
Barnes made two free throws, taking the lead down to 10 with 7:14 to play in the third inning. Griffin’s jumper took the lead to 12 with 4:31 to go through. Griffin added two more 3-pointers in a row to increase the lead to 16 with 2:16 remaining in the third inning.
Young hit three points with 1.8 seconds left and Atlanta led 96-79 after three quarters.
