NBA Finals: Draymond Green says he must be better as Warriors look to tie

Golden State forward Draymond Green admitted that his poor performance in Game 3 dragged his team down and that he will need to get better if the Warriors avoid falling into the final 3-1 hole on Wednesday. Six.

Green, the team’s emotional leader, struggled strongly Wednesday in the hostile environment of TD Garden, scoring just two points with four rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes before fouling.

“We didn’t approach the game with the right force that we needed and that started with me,” Green told reporters in Boston the night before in what was essentially a must-win for the Warriors.

“I have to be more aggressive on both sides of the ball, not just defending or attacking. I think the game ties together, it all goes hand in hand,” he said.

The Warriors have good news on Thursday when guard Stephen Curry, who injured left leg in the fourth quarter of the game Three in a scramble for a loose ball, told reporters he would play on Friday.

Curry, who is averaging 31 points with 49% shooting three in the Finals, said he expects Green to return to help the “Dubs” level the series as the team looks to carry a fourth championship in eight years back Bay Area.

Curry said: “I know Draymond will help lead that game tomorrow, just like he did in Game Two.

“We’ll be back with this series.”

Klay Thompson, who came out of a slump to score 25 on Wednesday, echoed Curry.

“I know one thing for sure, we react like champions,” Thompson said.

“I knew Draymond would come out and play his signature brand of ball very physical, fast paced, talking and just Money Green that Dub Nation loves so much and has brought us to the heights of the franchise. trade like never before. ”

Battle Four takes place on Friday in Boston.
