NBA: Donovan Mitchell reaches 40 points again, Cavaliers beat Pacers

Donovan Mitchell scored 40 points, Evan Mobley scored a brace with 14 points and 16 rebounds and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Indiana Pacers 115-105 on Sunday.

Mitchell shot 14/25 from the floor and 9/12 from the free throw line on his way to his 12th game that added 40 points of the season and finished second to the Pacers of the campaign.

However, it was the Cavaliers’ collective effort that ignited an important game in the fourth half, as Darius Garland scored five of his 20 points and Caris LeVert added five of his 15 from the bench in the match took the lead with a score of 12-4. it never gives up.

Garland made six of the team’s highest assists, helping Cleveland end the game with four of the starters scoring at least 14 points. Jarrett Allen finished with 15 of 6/9 shots from the floor and won seven rebounds.

The win moved Cleveland through two games (49-30), helping to maintain a three-game lead over New York for the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference.

Indiana (34-45), knocked out of the play-in, fought Cleveland. The Pacers took the lead in the first half by 11 points and made a balanced attack.

Seven Pacers scored twice as many points, led by Bennedict Mathurin’s 19 points. Mathurin also won 9 rebounds.

TJ McConnell came on from the bench to score 16 points and have five assists, Andrew Nembhard scored 13 points and eight assists for the match, while Jordan Nwora scored a brace with 15. points and 10 bounces.

Aaron Nesmith’s 14 points, with 12 and 10 from the benches of Jalen Smith and Buddy Hield, rounded out Indiana’s well-distributed score.

The loss marked Indiana’s fifth loss in the last six. Even though they scored evenly, the Pacers were hampered by an inconsistent 43.4% performance (36 out of 83) over the ring. Cleveland went 44 out of 90 (48.9 percent).
