NBA: Deandre Ayton, Suns hold off Pistons

Deandre Ayton scored 28 points on an 11/13 shot and also collected 12 rebounds to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 108-102 win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.
Devin Booker contributed 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists as Phoenix beat the Pistons for the 4th time in a row. Cameron Payne added 16 points and 10 assists, while Mikal Bridges scored 15 for the Suns.
Bojan Bogdanovic scored 19 points to overtake Detroit. Killian Hayes scored 17 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds, Alec Burks scored 17 and Marvin Bagley III had 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Pistons.
Phoenix played the eighth game in a row without Chris Paul (heel).
The Suns shot 48.3%, including 7/29 shots from a distance of 3 points.

Hamidou Diallo added 10 points for Detroit, took 42.4% of the shots and was 9 of 26 from behind the arc.
The shuttlecocks hit two 3-pointers in a explosive 9-0 match as Phoenix led 81-73 with 3:27 remaining in the third inning.
The Pistons scored the next six before Booker took three with 1:33 remaining and the Suns led 84-79 in the final stanza.
Damion Lee’s game took a 6-0 lead to give Phoenix a 92-83 lead with the game down to 8:17.
Moments later, Detroit won eight straight points and led 94-93 after two free throws from Hayes with the remaining score at 4:53.
Payne split two free throws and Ayton converted the three-point play to give the Suns a five-point advantage at 4:11.
Bogdanovic’s shot pulled Detroit within 104-100 with 47.5 seconds left. Bridges scored in a game with 24 seconds left to play, but Burks responded with a game 20.4 seconds left.
Ayton made two free throws with 17.4 seconds left when the Suns finished the game.
Bogdanovic scored 15 points to help Detroit keep the score 54-53 after halftime. Booker has 13 innings for Phoenix.
The Pistons took the lead 48-42 after Hayes took three points with half time remaining 2:39. The Suns recovered to score at 52 with 10.8 seconds remaining.
Bogdanovic steered with 4.3 seconds left but Booker made two free throws with 3.3 seconds left, giving Detroit a one-goal lead at halftime.
