NBA: Damian Lillard climbs 3-point ladder as Blazers roll over Spurs

Damian Lillard has scored 37 points and 12 assists, and is seventh on the all-time 3-pointers list as he led the Portland Trail Blazers to a 147-127 win over the team. San Antonio Spurs guests on Monday night.
Lillard’s seventh and final run of the night was the 2,283 of his career, surpassing Jason Terry. Lillard is only seven times behind Vince Carter in sixth place.

Anfernee Simons scored 26 points and Jusuf Nurkic added 25 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals as the Trail Blazers cut a 3-game losing streak and claimed just their 5th win in 17 games. Shaedon Sharpe scored 19 points and reserve teammate Nassir Little added 10 as Portland reached the all-time high of the season.
Keldon Johnson scored 20 points and Jeremy Sochan got 18 points for Spurs, who have lost for the 10th time in the past 12 games. Jakob Poeltl scored 14 points, Doug McDermott got 13 points and Tre Jones and Romeo Langford each got 12 points.
Portland scored 20 of 33 (60.6%) from three points and had an overall shot rate of 59.8%.
Zach Collins and Josh Richardson each added 11 more points for the Spurs, who had a 52.2% shot rate and took 13 of 27 shots from three points.
San Antonio took a three-point lead with less than five minutes left in the third inning before the Trail Blazers exploded with an 18-2 scoreline. Sharpe had 10 points and Lillard scored the remaining 8 points.
Lillard started things off with a pitch and a 31-foot pitch as Portland’s lead increased to 103-95 with 4:12 left in the half.
Lillard connected on a 32-foot 3-pointer with 2:53 remaining in time to draw Terry and make it 111-97. Sharpe followed with 2 pointers and one to cross the track and give the Trail Blazers a 19-point lead.
Portland overcame the Spurs 45-27 in the innings to hold a 119-101 advantage – setting the franchise’s three-quarter points mark – and then pushed the lead to 22 on his 3-pointer. Little with 9:31 left in the competition.
Lillard hit 3 points to get past Terry with 6:44 left to make it 138-114 and the Trail Blazers continued a comfortable lead for the rest of the way.
Both teams heated up in the first half and finished with a draw of 74. Spurs had a 59.2% shot rate and 8/13 shots from three points, while Portland had 55.1%. and reached 9/18.
