Paul George scored 28 points, Marcus Morris Sr. added 21 double points, and the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Houston Rockets to a 109-101 win on Wednesday.

As he did in the Clippers’ home win over the Rockets on Monday, George brought the offensive load down the line. His 5:26 left-hand swing took the lead to 98-89, and George added two shots before assisting a Morris 3-pointer, pushing the lead to 105-93 with 3:02 to play. Morris, who scored 18 of his 21 points in the first half, won 10 rebounds.

Alperen Sengun led the Rockets with 26 points and 13 rebounds, while Kevin Porter Jr and Jalen Green scored 22 points for Houston, who have dropped five games in a row. Daishen Nix added 12 points from the Rockets’ bench.

After erasing a sizable first-half deficit and taking a three-goal lead at the break, the Rockets continued the fight in the third half, taking a 71-70 lead against Green 3 at 6:00.

But George responded with an 11-meter swing jump and a pair of 3-pointers, giving the Clippers a 78-71 lead. When Houston turned cold towards the end of the period, going nearly four minutes without a goal extending into the fourth inning, the Clippers had the working advantage.

The Rockets’ subs saved them from a bad start, one that included the Clippers turning a 13-0 win into a 23-5 lead thanks to Morris’ 3-pointer with 4:04 remaining in the first half. Houston shot 0 to 3 and made three turns while the Clippers spiked, one being stalled by Nix 3.

Nix started a 19-8 run that helped the Rockets cut the deficit to 31-24 before Terance Mann beat the buzzer with a score of 3. When Sengun completed a three-point game, limit one run to 10. -0 at 6:48 of the second, the score is tied 40-40.

After 18 points ahead, the Rockets took the lead in a pair of Porter free throws with 2.9 seconds remaining in the first half. But Sengun was next to foul Nicolas Batum when he hit a 3 on the whistle, and Batum completed the game by four points as the Clippers led 56-53 at halftime.
