NBA: Cavaliers’ Evan Mobley out 1-2 weeks with ankle sprain
Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Evan Mobley has sprained his right ankle and will be out for about one to two weeks.
The Cavaliers updated Mobley’s status Monday, saying he will miss Wednesday’s pre-season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers home team.
Mobley will now receive treatment and rehabilitation. Given the timeframe, he could still be ready in time for the October 19 regular season opener against the Toronto Raptors.
Mobley was the third overall pick in the 2021 draft and became the first NBA All-Rookie team after averaging 15.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 tackles. ball per game in 69 games (all starting) last season.
