NBA: Bucks tipped as champions, Luka Doncic favorite to win MVP in GM survey
The Milwaukee Bucks have been rated as the favorites to end this season as NBA champions according to basketball’s annual survey of the league’s 30 general managers released on Tuesday.
The survey published on NBA.com found the Bucks considered the lead for the 2023 championship with 43% of the vote.
The defending champion Golden State Warriors received 25% of the vote while the Los Angeles Clippers got 21%.
The Boston Celtics, the Golden State runner-up in last season’s finals, were the only remaining team to be named with 11% of the vote.
Meanwhile, Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic is rated as the favorite player for the NBA’s Best Player award with 48%.
Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo came in second with 34% while the Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid drew 14%.
The Warriors’ Stephen Curry, the MVP of the 2022 NBA Finals, drew just 1% of the vote.
Meanwhile, Antetokounmpo received 55% of the vote as the player most GMs would choose to build a team around, with Doncic just behind with 45%.
The survey of CEOs has been held every year for the past 21 years.
Participants are not allowed to vote for their team or personnel.
