Atlanta was led by John Collins, who finished with 23 points and 14 rebounds, and Trae Young, who had 22 points and 14 assists. But Young only got 4 to 16 from the ring and the Hawks only shot from 39.8%. De’Andre Hunter scored 18 points.

The Hawks played their second game in a row without center Clint Capela (toothache), who averaged a double. Substitute Onyeka Okongwu finished with six points and four rebounds.
The Hawks failed to score 100 points, ending a run of 19 games that started the season and a streak of 40 games since last season.
The Hawks took an 11 lead when Collins made a jump upstream with 2:19 left in the second half and led 60-51 at halftime. But Miami overcame Atlanta 16-4 to open the second half and take the lead thanks to Kyle Lowry’s treble at 8:27 of the third half. The Hawks never took the lead again.
This is the first of four regular-season meetings between the two clubs and Miami continues to show its dominance. The Heat won three of the four games last season.
The Hawks completed the head-to-head on Monday in Philadelphia. Miami plays the second contest on Wednesday’s four-game trip in Boston.
