The NBA has released a schedule for the 2022-23 season, and it’s a schedule with 82 games per team.
The NBA’s 77th season will begin on Tuesday, October 18 and end on Sunday, April 9, 2023.
The 2023 NBA Play-In Tournament will run from April 11-14, 2023, followed by the start of the 2023 NBA Qualifiers on April 15. Game 1 of the 2023 NBA Finals is scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
The regular season will begin with the Philadelphia 76ers visiting the defending Eastern Conference champions, the Boston Celtics. In the second round, the defending NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors will take on the Los Angeles Lakers.
The day after October 19, the Memphis Grizzlies will take on the New York Knicks and the second game will be a rematch of the 2022 Western Conference semifinal series, with the Dallas Mavericks visiting the Phoenix Suns.
All 30 teams will compete the day before Election Day in the US, to encourage fans to make plans to vote. As a result, no games are scheduled for Election Day on November 8.
At the end of the season, five games will be played on Christmas Day for the 15th year in a row. The 75th edition of the NBA on Christmas Day will begin on ESPN as the Knicks host the 76ers.
The Grizzlies will make their debut on Christmas Day when they visit the Warriors for another rematch in the 2022 Western Conference semifinals.
The new highlight of the regular season schedule will be ‘NBA Rivals Week’ for the week of January 23, 2023. It will be a week of both classic and budding competition. .
The 2022-23 season will also feature the return of the NBA Global Games, with two regular games of the season being held outside of the United States and Canada.
The NBA Mexico City 2022 game will see Heat face the Spurs on Saturday, December 17 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City. NBA Paris Game 2023 will feature a game between the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons on Thursday, January 19 at the Accor Arena in Paris.
All 30 teams will compete on the final day of the regular season which takes place on Sunday, April 9, 2023.
