NBA 2K is still in the rebuilding phase. It sounds like there’s some luck associated with this system, but Visual Concept says there’s enough time to react to player movements. Badge sounds more confusing but better?
Badges for created players are back. During last year’s game, Visual Con Concept noticed that players became a bit overwhelmed when stacking the same badges. To make sure this doesn’t happen again, badges are now divided into tiers. There are eight badges on the first tier, four badges on the second tier, and another four on the third tier. Tier one badges are the least impactful (but still useful). The cost will increase to use other levels. As Visual Concepts said, you’ll need to use a level one badge before you can use level two and three. The hope is that this system brings more variety to badge loads and motivates players to be more strategic. As for the Team Takeover ability, in this year’s game the whole team didn’t catch fire instantly. Now, each player must fill their own piece of the clock by performing on the field before the Team Takeover takes place. It’s another way NBA 2K23 tries to bring back the realism of the sport.
