Naran Huleg looking for a sweep of Japan’s G1 sprint

Top level racing returns to Japan on October 2 with the Sprinters Stakes (G1) at Nakayama Circuit, one of only two tier 1 races on the nation’s racing calendar.

With Sprinters Stakes and Takamatsunomiya Kinen (G1) spring covering the entire sample, both races are crucial to naming year-end sprint champions. That was even more true this year when Takamatsunomiya won, quite significantly, by a long shot—Naran Hulegone Charming gold The 6-year-old found a seam near the rails to simply stand up to secure his first ranked win of any kind.

Naran Huleg is back, looking for a repeat sprint win but is looking to finish in 9th place at 1,600 meters (about 1 mile) Yasuda Kinen (G1) on June 5.

Coach Yoshitada Munakata said: “He has improved in the past few weeks, remember that his last run was at Yasuda Kinen, where the distance was too long for him,” coach Yoshitada said. Munakata said.

Yet another victory would be another defeat, as several more successful competitors await in the 16-horse racecourse.

Meikei Yell, was a bit of all or nothing filthy. The 4-year-old has seven wins in 12 starts but has been knocked out in all five remaining games, including fourth place in the 2021 Sprinters Stakes.

She shined in her most recent warm-up, lowering her bet record to 1:06.2 while winning the Sankei Sho Centaur Stakes (G2) at Chukyo Circuit. Assistant Kaname Ogino said the girl “is back in training and seems comfortable, which is a good thing. Her condition does not appear to have changed.”

Schnell Meister a 4 year old child King colt, did not miss a best finish of his eight starts in Japan, although he reported a disappointing eighth at the DP World-sponsored Dubai Turf (G1) in Meydan in March. He scored his only level 1 win at the NHK Mile Cup (G1) in May 2021 and was most recently seen finishing second at Yasuda Kinen. The Sprinters Stakes’ 1,200 meters (about 6 feathers) will be his first attempt at the distance.

The race offers weight loss levels for both 3-year-olds and toddlers and Namura Clair (JPN) benefits from both after winning Hakodate Sprint Stakes (G3) by two starts again before finishing third on her most recent start.

Coach Kodai Hasegawa said of Namura Clair: “She seems to be bigger and more muscular, and at the same time very proportionate. “She knows when to turn it on and off. She ran a strong race in the Hakodate Sprint, and although she didn’t win last time, with her experience, I think she can make it to one. level 1 racing like this. She’s definitely developing in the right way, and I hope she can show off her abilities.”

Sprinters bets start on the off-court ring at the Nakayama complex sweeping across and curving slightly to the right before turning more than straight in. Runners face a sudden, abrupt climb in the final run to the finish line.
