Musk’s Twitter Slides Say ‘We’re Hiring’ After Job Cuts


(Bloomberg) – Twitter Inc. is hiring, according to slides from a company talk posted by owner Elon Musk on Twitter, following a sharp drop in jobs in an effort to cut costs since the billionaire took over the social network.

The first slide says “We are hiring” and no other details. Musk, who did not speak when speaking, made an aggressive restructuring that initially cut the company’s headcount in half.

Social media hate speech impressions were lower and reported impersonations were down, according to the slides citing data dated mid-November.

New user signups are at an all-time high, averaging more than 2 million per day for the seven days through November 16, the slides also show. In a follow-up tweet, Musk said he sees a path to Twitter having over 1 billion monthly users within 12 to 18 months.

Musk said Twitter will relaunch paid verified services on Friday, after a series of delays and risks to fake accounts. Twitter Verified is his attempt to differentiate between different user classes and increase revenue.
