Musk, whose $44 billion deal for Twitter is set to close on Friday, denied the number previously reported in an address to employees at the company’s San Francisco office, who declined to be named because the information was not made public.
The billionaire is still expected to cut staff as part of the takeover, making workers nervous. Earlier, on Thursday, Musk posted a video of him walking into the office carrying a kitchen sink. He changed his Twitter profile description to “Chief Twit.”
