Murder hunt after fatal shooting in Liverpool – suspects use electric bikes to flee | UK News

Two people on electric bicycles who fled the scene of a fatal shooting in Liverpool are being hunted by police.

Officers were called at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday to Lavrock Bank in Toxteth, where they found a critically injured man, believed to be in his 20s with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

CPR was performed at the scene until an ambulance arrived and took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police believe that two offenders, both wearing dark clothing, rode an electric bicycle away from the scene.

An investigation is underway and crime scene investigators are conducting a forensic examination, the force said in a statement.

Officers are also completing door-to-door investigations and will examine security footage to identify offenders and establish circumstances.

Chief Inspector Col Rooney said: “The investigation is in its infancy and officers are working hard to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and identify those responsible.

“I understand this will come as a shock to the local community, but I wanted to reassure them that we have increased patrols in the area and we are doing some investigations.

“If someone has any information that could help us with our investigation, or who has seen or heard anything suspicious before or after the incident, I would encourage them to go ahead and Let us know what they know.

“I also asked if anyone had CCTV or doorbell footage that could put us in touch with the emergency.”

Anyone with information is asked to send it to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting log 1259 August 16.
