MTV “Pimp My Ride” returns this month with a new host — watch the trailer here

MTV’s “Pimp My Ride” is returning this month, albeit in the UK and without the original host Xzibit.

Taking on the hosting duties will be British rapper Lady Lehurr, and it remains to be seen whether she can match Xzibit’s superb blend of fun and goofy that made the original so popular. with people who ride cars and don’t use cars or not.

Six episodes were filmed and the first episode was streamed live on MTV UK’s YouTube channel on August 19. The garage where the magic will happen is Wrench Studios, based in Ashford, UK and run by two brothers. The two cars we know will be on the show are a 1966 Volkswagen Beetle and a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT.

There will be a new focus this time around, and that will be the environment. The show will highlight the environmental benefits of DIY-style mods using refurbished parts on an eBay Certified Recycling Center, featuring used OEM parts. use. We’ve told you there will still be harsh modifications, so expect vibrant colors, great sound systems, and plenty of screens.

The original show, despite being a huge MTV hit, was not without controversy. For example, there are some mods that are only added for filming but then removed, usually for safety reasons, or cars that are modified to look cooler but actually don’t drive well. Some car owners also soon sold their cars after being handed over the keys.

Interestingly, there have been some changes. There have been shows shot in Brazil, France, Indonesia, and even an earlier British version that spanned from 2005 to 2007 and featured British DJ Tim Westwood as host.
