Moto X40 is all set to launch in China today (December 15). The launch event will be live-streamed via the Lenovo-owned brand’s official Weibo page and its Chinese website. Ahead of the launch, Motorola, through numerous online teasers, is revealing the complete design and specifications of the smartphone. Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is confirmed to power the Moto X40. It is said to come in two variants with 4,600mAh and 5,000mAh battery capacities. The Moto X40 is expected to support up to 120W fast charging.
Moto X40 launch details
‘s launch event Moto X40 will start in China today at 7:30pm local time (5:00pm IST). The virtual event will be streamed live via the company’s official website and Weibo channel.
Motorola has begun to reveal the design and specifications of the Moto X40 via Weibo and a special site small website on its website. It is currently up for Reserve above lenovo.com and JD.com.
The Moto X40 is said to be available in 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB storage configurations. It is expected to debut as the successor to Moto Edge X30 It’s a given in December 2021 at a price of CNY 3,199 (about Rs 38,000) for the base variant 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. If this is the case, then it could be priced around the Chinese price of its predecessor.

So far, Motorola has confirmed Some specs of the Moto X40. The phone is said to come in multiple color options with a curved display and a center-aligned cutout to accommodate the selfie camera. The display will offer a 165Hz refresh rate. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC based on the 4nm technology process will power the device.
As for the optics, the Moto X40 is confirmed to include a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel main camera that supports optical image stabilization (OIS). The smartphone will have an IP68 rated construction for dust and water resistance.
The Moto X40 is said to come in two variants with two different battery capacities – 4,600mAh with 125W fast charging and a 5,000mAh battery.
