From Monday, the price of whole milk has increased from Rs 63 per liter to Rs 64 per liter. However, the company has not adjusted the selling price of 500ml packaged whole milk. Token milk (bulk semi-automatic milk) will be sold for Rs 50 per liter.
Mother Milk Company on Sunday announced that it has decided to increase the price of whole milk by Rs 1/liter and token milk by Rs 2/liter across Delhi-NCR effective from Monday.
This is Mother’s Milk’s fourth milk price increase this year.
A spokesperson for Mother Dairy said the decision was made due to the high cost of purchasing raw milk from dairy farmers.
“This year, the whole dairy industry is witnessing a large gap in milk supply and demand. Raw milk supply is affected due to high feed costs, erratic monsoon… put pressure on raw milk prices. consumption has increased rapidly due to increased demand this year which has resulted in much higher utilization of the commodity,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesman also said the price increase will take effect from November 21.
“The ongoing supply-demand gap, even after the festive season, further drives up the price of raw milk. As a result, we were forced to shift some of the impact by adjusting the consumer prices of some variants. The price adjustment is aimed at continuing to support our farmers with appropriate compensation while at the same time ensuring the quality of milk for consumers. 2022 in the Delhi-NCR region,” the spokesperson added.
