A mother and her longtime partner have been found guilty of murdering her 15-year-old son, who died after a torture campaign at his home in Huddersfield.

Prosecutors said Sebastian Kalinowski died of an infection caused by “untreated complications of multiple rib fractures” after weeks of “brutal assault and abuse”.

Sebastian was beaten with a bed rail, extended cable and stabbed with a needle by his mother Agnieszka Kalinowska, 35, and Andrzej Latoszewski, 38, a jury at Leeds Crown Court heard. .

The boy was also forced to compete in “humiliating” gymnastics.

Kalinowska sobbed in the dock after being found guilty of murder.

Police seized CCTV cameras from the couple’s home after they were arrested in connection with Sebastien’s death on August 13, 2021.

Prosecutors said the cameras were partly installed to “remotely monitor and control Sebastian”.

CCTV footage shows Latoszewski removing Sebastian from his bedroom at 8:25 a.m. on the day of his death before bringing him back 15 minutes later, “naked, obviously wet and unconscious.” and try to resuscitate him.

Emergency services were only called after Sebastian had been unconscious for about two and a half hours.

The boy was unable to cope with the infection due to “untreated multiple rib fractures”.

Kalinowska and Latoszewski denied killing Sebastian but were found guilty at Leeds Crown Court on Friday.

The judge, Mrs. Justice Lambert, said the couple would not be sentenced until October at the earliest.
