More details on the unique features on the Hogwarts Legacy PS5 DualSense in the new blog post
Hogwarts Legacy releases this holiday for multiple platforms, but PlayStation 5 players will experience extra technical magic thanks to the game’s DualSense feature set.
One Posts on PlayStation Blog revealed the different ways the Hogwarts Legacy leverages the operator’s haptic feedback. For starters, use the resistances and feedback of each physical button to make them feel unique to each other. In a nice touch, these tactile effects are isolated on the right side of the controller to more accurately simulate one-handed wand use. Hopefully, this feature can be carried over to the other side of the gamepad so that left-handed players can experience the same sense of immersion.
The DualSense light bar shows different flash effects for each spell, but it also projects the colors of your chosen home. For the uninitiated, it’s red for Gryffindor, green for Slytherin, yellow for Hufflepuff, and blue for Ravenclaw.
The controller will also simulate sensations such as crushing plant ingredients in potions, deflecting and dissolving incoming magic using the Portico shield spell, and soaring into the sky atop a tree broom or hippo. Hogwarts Legacy also leverages the PS5’s 3D audio to capture smaller sound effects such as crackling fireplaces and other environmental acoustic cues.

Hogwarts Legacy doesn’t have a release date, but is expected to arrive around the holidays. You can play it on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
