Mitsubishi Ralliart returns to the US in 2023

The Mitsubishi Ralliart performance division will return to the United States in 2023, Mitsubishi confirmed Wednesday in a press release.
The automaker says it will be rolling out limited edition Ralliart versions of each of its models — including the Outlander, Outlander PHEV, Eclipse Cross, Outlander Sport and Mirage — but it looks like the changes are to These new Ralliart models will be primarily aesthetic.

The release states that Ralliart models will receive “unique rally-inspired body effects, graphics and other details”, with a White Diamond paint job and a black roof. But there is no specific mention of a performance upgrade.
Maybe these models will repeat Outlander PHEV and Eclipse Cross Ralliart’s concept Mitsubishi showed off at Tokyo Auto Salon 2022, where there were also cosmetic upgrades but no obvious mechanical changes.

Founded in the 1980s, Ralliart is responsible for various Mitsubishi motorsport programs, including successful entries in the Dakar Off-Road Race and the World Rally Championship. Mitsubishi also put the Ralliart name on road cars, such as the Lancer Ralliart.
Mitsubishi put Ralliart on ice in 2010 due to the impact of the global financial crisis. However, it did not disband the division, describing the move at the time as a “downsizing.” This opened the door for the revival of Ralliart, which Mitsubishi first confirmed in 2021 with trailers for the Ralliart version of the Triton pickup truck (also known as the L200) sold in other markets. Mitsubishi CEO Takao Kate said at the time to expect new performance accessories and a return to motorsport.
