“I came from very far behind at Evian and here I was ahead and I won so it was a little bit different and in the end I won by a pretty big margin but it was still very sweet. “, said Lee. Sports sky.
“I think it’s just the situation, walking down the 18th fairway, it’s a great feeling but other than that, with everyone there, I think it’s just good nerves. I’ve been nervous all day and To be fair, it’s been one of the highlights of my career so far so it’s ok to be a little nervous.
“I just try to focus on every single shot and take it one step at a time and focus on what I have in front of me. I think that’s probably the best thing to do and not get ahead of yourself and try Make as many birdies as you can.
“Usually I’m pretty good so I don’t show it on the outside but on the inside I’m pretty nervous but I’m happy to get the job done and it’s been a great week.
“We’re just moving forward in that respect, and the bonuses are only a small part of growing the women’s tour and the LPGA.
“Even with Aon, we have the Aon Risk and Reward challenge with the same payouts as the seniors so I think we’re just on the right track and it’s going to go up from here.”
The US Open success was Lee’s second win at a major championship after winning the Evian Championship last July.
But the 26-year-old is now hoping to keep her title at Evian and has subsequently set her sights on winning the KPMG Women’s PGA championship, which begins later this month, and the AIG Women’s Open.
“I’ve won two major championships and I want to win the remaining three, that’s probably going to be my next big goal,” she said.
“We have Evian coming, British Open coming, so we still have two or three pro tournaments, that’s my goal. Every major championship is very difficult to win.
“There are so many aspects involved in winning a tournament and everything has to be so I feel like I can only really prepare for the first hit that I hit that week but I will always try your best.
“I’m just going to prepare the way I’ve been in other majors and other events I’ve competed in, and I don’t think a lot will change.
“I’ve spent countless hours on all aspects of my game and just to see it all come together is really, really special to me.
“I don’t know if it’s surprising, I’m just really focused every day and I have a goal in mind and that’s what I’m working towards.
“I don’t know if it’s surprising but I know I’ve got it in me, I just don’t know when it’ll come.”
