Microsoft Outlook users will now see more ads on the app

Who do we blame for this? Google? Facebook? Samsung, Xiaomi and others? We’re talking about a steady stream of ads and – now becoming non-stop – across the apps people use. The latest to join the rather unflattering trend is Opinion word app Microsoft. Gmail It may be the most used email service, but Outlook is still quite popular. So if you use the Outlook app on your iPhone or Android device, then there’s some nasty news for you. As The Verge reports, the Outlook app on both Android and iPhone will now see more ads than before.

How will the ads look on the Outlook app?

Microsoft Outlook The app – like other email clients – gives users options to customize the look and feel of their inbox. Currently, users can choose to have a single inbox or split it into two categories – Focused and Other – depending on how important the email is. Prior to the new update, users could only see ads in Other folders. However, now ads will also show in the Outlook app’s single inbox format.
In a statement given to The Verge, Microsoft confirmed the move to show more ads. “For Outlook free users, ads are displayed in their inbox and they can choose to enable the ‘Focused Inbox’ feature if they only want to see ads in the ‘Other’ inbox, ” Microsoft spokeswoman Caitlin Roulston told The Verge.
Ads are not something new to Outlook – or to Gmail – users. On desktop versions of the app, the ads are quite prominent. Microsoft is offering a way to get rid of these ads: buy a Microsoft 365 subscription and you’ll get an ad-free experience.
