Microsoft has finally made this ‘necessary’ change to the Windows Store to help users find the right app
Microsoft Principal Architect, Leader of Microsoft Rudy Hyun Store took to Twitter to announce this new change. Hyun also revealed that the 2000 review limit was due to an old technical limitation. He also further confirmed that the issue has been fixed and that the Microsoft Store can display more reviews per app or game.
He also shared some examples of screenshots of some games with 66,000, 2,19,000, and 5,36,000 reviews. This is certainly a lot more than the previous rating limit. Although, it is not clear yet whether there is some limit to the number of reviews or whether the Microsoft Store will, in the future, show all available reviews for the app or game.
“An old technical limitation prevented the #MicrosoftStore from displaying more than 2,000 reviews per product in the past, this is something we had to fix and we’re now excited to announce that this limitation has finally been fixed. no more,” said Hyun.
Showing more reviews doesn’t sound like much of a problem though. However, it certainly used to make things more complicated while deciding whether to download apps or not. Since the limit has been lifted, it will allow users to see more and gain insight into the apps they intend to download on their Windows PCs.
The changes are server side updates and you don’t need to download updates or anything for this.
