Well, folks, the joke is that Corey can officially go out on these snowmobiles! The Michigan man is now a registered driver and can legally drive them on the road.

EVERYBODY Harris recently celebrated passing his driver’s license test with a dance after obtaining a road-legal license, it was reported.

Harris’ attorney, Dionne Webster-Cox, confirmed to the news outlet that Harris officially received the license on July 8.

“In the face of public ridicule, Mr. Harris was undeterred. He continued and finished the race. He is a law-abiding citizen and he has a driver’s license,” Webster-Cox said in a statement.

While Corey can now celebrate becoming a licensed driver, he’s not out of the woods yet.

PEOPLE also revealed that he is scheduled to appear in court today (August 7). His attorney, Dionne Webster-Cox, told the paper that securing his license between court appearances could see the misdemeanor charge downgraded to a civil one.

More details about Corey’s viral video and his license

Corey Harris initially rose to fame after he joined a video call in court while driving his wife to a doctor’s appointment.

It is reported that the authorities suspended his license at that time. Judge Cedric Simpson was so confused by Corey’s audacity that he asked him to confess.

“I don’t even know why he did that. So the defendant’s bail is revoked in this manner. The defendant will surrender himself to the Washington County Jail by 6:00 p.m. this afternoon. If he does not surrender himself, he will be ordered held without bail.”

As The Shade Room previously reported, Corey’s driver’s license suspension reportedly stems from a child support case with the Saginaw County Friend of the Court.

However, he argued that the agency allegedly failed to send the judge’s order to the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office, which handles such matters. As a result, Corey’s license suspension has remained in effect on paper ever since. On May 31, the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office confirmed that it had not received the license.

But Corey’s viral video took an expected turn when Judge Simpson revealed that Corey had never was a licensed driver. Judge Simpson clarified that the suspension applied to Harris’ driving privileges, not to a nonexistent license.

“…With any reference to your client having a license that day, in some indication or misunderstanding as to whether he had a license or not… let me be clear… he never had a license. Never. And [he’s] never had a license in 49 states or other communities that make up this country. He never had a license.”
