The Miami Heat is like a team that wins on the scoreboard instead of the scoreboard. During the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals match, the Celtics had several tumors on their skulls.

NBA officials have spent the past few decades trying to turn the NBA into a hardwood ballet disco with strikes, dribbling maneuvers, and dexterous movements. Miami Heat is the one who disrupts that order in many ways. They don’t just play defensively, The heat makes you feel like you’re rushing onto the stage and running into a counter-attacking team.

Their inherent incompetence is evident in their squad, which includes the likes of Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, Gabe Vincent and Max Strus, who have all gone unnoticed. One of the most iconic images of this season centered around a hot Miami Heat scone and bread outside the Denver Nuggets locker room after Nikola Jokić shoved Markieff Morris causing the player to then stretched off the floor. They will never throw hands. After all, the only thing between them bursting into the dressing room was a copy of Tom Thibodeau, but it was a threatening move.

Heat Culture has always felt like a UFC fight camp. Their world-class air conditioner is not for everyone. Recently, former Heat striker Jermaine O’Neal recounted staring at Oreos in his fridge one night and realizing that a Miami re-signing wasn’t on the cards. When they have no intention of knocking opponents out of their locker rooms, they are locking horns on the sidelines the way they did at the end of the season, when Udonis Haslem threatened to kick Jimmy Butler in the ass.

Miami made good use of that fight camp training in Game 2. Fittingly, they were led by a burly big guy nicknamed Bam and a 37-year-old defense expert in PJ Tucker, who neutralized the stars using the Krav Maga technique. Tucker is a full-back for the Heat, and he’s been a big part of Milwaukee’s hump this season.

As Jimmy Butler sat out the second half of Miami’s dwindling lead to treat his knee, Tucker played offensively, scoring 17 and having all the pots in his hand. Not only did Tucker nullify Jayson Tatum, he outplayed him on both ends. In defence, he was crucial in keeping Tatum off balance. Tatum finished with 10 points on 21.4 percent of shots from the field, including 14.3 percent after the arc and six spins. Max Strus, a former two-way contract player who replaced Duncan Robinson in the squad, scored 16 goals.

Tatum and Marcus Smart are a testament to how brutal Boston’s game against Heat Culture has become. This series of battles has injured more people than 10 cars piled on black ice. Tatum has been hunted by Tucker in all of the series, but a blow to the shoulder sent him into the locker room for the final five minutes of the regulation. He will be back, but those precious seconds could have made all the difference.

The NBA typically gives teams 48 to 72 hours between games in each inning of the post-season period to recover. Matches take weeks to come back. Both Tatum and Marcus Smart fix that after returning to the dressing room. Smart’s ankle will almost certainly hinder his movement for the rest of this series, if he can even compete on Monday. Tatum’s pride has a black eye, but he has a chance to recover.

From what we’ve seen so far, Miami is more suitable for a brawl than Boston, especially if they have a healthy Jimmy Butler. His sudden knee inflammation was a precarious problem that didn’t sound serious, but there was no telling how it would react if he tried to continue it in Game 4, or if further flare-ups of inflammation.

Boston and Miami will continue to beat each other and Boston is trying to switch in the upcoming rounds. Both want to smoke. But the tenacious heat is providing an energy source that Boston may struggle to match.
