Meta’s Oculus Quest 2 deal for Black Friday is the best we’ve ever seen
If you missed your chance to buy Oculus Quest 2 before its price rises again in August, you’re in luck: Meta has some Black Friday Deals for a better VR headset than anything we’ve seen before.
On November 18 for a limited time (possibly until midnight on November 25th, which is Black Friday), Meta will sell Oculus Quest 2 for $349.99 and $429.99 for the 128GB and 256GB models respectively – we’re waiting for details from Meta on pricing in the UK and Australia. $50 and $70 off their respective rates isn’t too bad for Mission 2 – the best deal we’ve seen so far gets you a Same discount for a refurbished model – but it gets better.
This price not only includes the VR headset, but you also get two free games: Beat Saber and Resident Evil 4 VR. Beat Saber is the Guitar Hero and Star Wars crossover you didn’t know you needed – you use lightsaber-like weapons to cut through moving targets in time to the beat of the music. Meanwhile, Resident Evil 4 is probably Best VR game on the Quest 2: This action remake of the horror-filled classic horror adventure offers immersive gameplay and a suspenseful story that few other titles can match.
Beat Saber and Resident Evil 4 usually cost $30 / £23 / AU$47 and $40 / £30 / AU$50 respectively, so for those Black Friday Oculus Quest 2 Deals you’re saving $120 on the 128GB model plan and $140 if you get 256GB. If you’re still planning on picking up these games – and considering how great they are they should be at the top of your wish list – then Meta’s Black Friday deals aren’t the ones you’re looking for. will want to skip.
One Meta Quest blog post (opens in a new tab) has revealed that these deals will be available on November 18 at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, Target, Meta.com and participating UK retailers. As mentioned above, we’ve reached out to Meta for more details on UK and Australian deals (such as pricing and availability) and we’ll update this story as we respond.
Analysis: Which Oculus Quest 2 Model Is Right For You?
If you’re on sale during Quest 2 and plan to get one of these Black Friday sales, you’re probably trying to decide which model to buy: 128GB or 256GB.
Aside from storage space and price, both devices are the same, and in my experience it’s best to buy the cheaper 128GB version and save the rest (or use it for VR games) ,
VR game files are generally quite small so you have to download everything above The best Oculus Quest 2 game list and then a number before you’re almost full 128GB. Plus, even if you’ve filled your storage with a mountain of digital games, you can simply delete some games you haven’t played in a while and install a new one – if you If you have a good internet speed, the game will download pretty fast.
I actually have a smaller 64GB Oculus Quest 2 which Meta has discontinued and use the above method to avoid any issues with memory, so with 128GB you’ll be better off. That said, the Black Friday deal on the 256GB model is a good one, so if you want to splurge, now’s the time to do so – but honestly, you don’t have to. .
