A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with three counts of possession of indecent images of children.
PC Darren Hourigan has been charged following an investigation by the force’s Online Child Sex and Abuse Group, which is supported by the Directorate General of Occupational Standards.
Officer attached to Southern Regional Command, arrested in March 2020.
He was initially released on bail before being released for investigation.
He was charged under a requisition notice by mail on Wednesday, September 21 and will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
PC Hourigan was suspended before being charged.
