Mercedes-Benz India appoints Lance Bennett as Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Mercedes-Benz India on Monday announced it has appointed Lance Bennett as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and he will replace Santosh Iyer in the position. Iyer will assume the role of MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India from 1 February 2023 with current head Martin Schwenk moving to manage operations for the company in Thailand.

Bennett is currently General Manager and Company Director for Mercedes-Benz New Zealand and in this role, he is responsible for sales, marketing and after-sales support for passenger cars here. He is credited with developing the Mercedes-AMG business in New Zealand and it is believed that his experience in the finance, sales, operations and product management functions will help the company navigate development roadmap in India. He will take up his new role from February 1 of next year onwards.

Mercedes-Benz India occupies a dominant position in the luxury car sector in the country and has been launching a product attack there over the past few years. While it is also expanding its EV or electric vehicle portfolio, it also focuses on established luxury models and locally assembled AMG products. The company posted a 28% increase in sales from January to September this year, compared to the same period last year. And now, the company is preparing to launch the GLB SUV and another EV in EQB form.
