This past Sunday, the fashion set hit Wall Street for the much-anticipated Balenciaga show in New York. Megan Thee Stallion appeared in a sheer shirt paired with Balenciaga leggings and a shade jacket. Netflix stars Christine Quinn from “Sunset sale” and Christine Chiu and Jaime Xie from “Bling Empire” pose on the cobblestone streets with a complete Balenciaga look.
For the 2023 resort collection, the French fashion house brought its signature oversized design, enhanced sportiness and celebrated exotic aesthetics on the New York Stock Exchange. Editors, celebrities and fellow fashion designers (like Vera Wang and Marc Jacobs) looked at the spring 2023 collection with a mix of ready-to-wear (called the Garde-Robe line), evening wear, and Balenciaga’s new Adidas collaboration bag. An exclusive release of several Balenciaga x Adidas models was available to purchase via balenciaga.com and at the Balenciaga store on Madison Avenue shortly after the show.

Stars like Kanye WestAmbassador Balenciaga Alexa Demieand recently married Chloë Sevigny sit in the front row as models transform the NASDAQ into a runway, lifting the black-carpeted trading floor to the tunes of EDM house tracks.
The collection, which focuses on exploring the world of evening wear through the lens of refined sport, is known for its unique collaboration between Balenciaga’s creative director, Demna Gvasalia. He also interjected with nods to BDSM and kids club culture. Featuring a line of fetish rubber jumpsuits, the collection draws inspiration from performance artist and children’s club pioneer Leigh Bowery, with each model wearing one underneath their look.
For example, look at three outfits: a long-sleeve, floor-to-ceiling black velvet evening gown with a built-in choker, elegantly styled, paired with a black rubber mask. This jarring combination runs through the entire collection: tailored suits, satin blouses, pleated polka dot dresses, denim and tracksuits by Adidas, all represented with a black rubber faceplate.
Gvasalia (who has just been named as one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People) has long been the industry’s most admired horror, always befitting of fervent zealots. From a collection featured through a special “Simpsons” episode and the brand’s $1,800 sneaker to apparel Kim Kardashian for her “divorce tour,” he is known for delivering pop culture moments.
