MediaTek Dimensity 7300, 7300X chipsets launched: Know how it will boost smartphone performance
Taiwanese semiconductor company MediaTek has announced artificial intelligence (AI) enabled chipsets, Dimensity 7300 and Dimensity 7300X to power smartphones. The company claims that the chipsets are capable of supporting AI, multitasking, improved photography and gaming. While both chipsets are designed for the mid-range smartphone segment, the Dimensity 7300X is also capable of supporting flip-screen devices. Introducing the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 series chipsets
MediaTek Dimensity 7300 and Dimensity 7300X are developed on a 4nm process. Both chipsets support octa-core CPUs with 4X Arm Cortex-A78 cores at 2.5GHz along with 4X Arm Cortex-A55 cores. For gaming, the chipsets are equipped with Arm Mali-G615 GPU and MediaTek HyperEngine optimization. MediaTek claims that the chipsets are capable of delivering 20% faster FPS and 20% improved power efficiency.
Additionally, the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 series chipset supports 5G, Wi-Fi gaming connectivity, and Bluetooth LE Audio. Its MediaTek Imagiq 950 has 12-bit HDR-ISP supporting a 200MP primary camera that is claimed to deliver an upgraded photography experience. It also supports WFHD+ displays with 10-bit true color and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to make smartphones future-ready.
For AI-related features and tasks, the chipsets support the MediaTek APU 655. “The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chips will be very important,” said Dr. Yenchi Lee, VP of Wireless Communications Business at MediaTek. integrating the latest connectivity features and AI innovations so consumers can stream and game seamlessly.”
MediaTek believes that the Dimensity 7300 chip has “twice the performance” of the Dimensity 7050.
