Roommates, McDonald’s just delighted millions of fans by officially announcing the return of the famous Spicy Nuggets… but there’s a twist. If you’re a fan of Spicy Nuggets, you might need to get creative to get them, as they won’t be available everywhere.
McDonald’s revealed that Spicy Nuggets will only be available at about half of its US locations, which is about 6,900 stores, and for a limited time only. You’ll recall that McDonald’s originally announced Spicy Nuggets in 2020, making them the first new US McNugget flavor since 1983 when it was first introduced on the menu.
McDonald’s Spicy Nuggets has a breaded tempura coating of cayenne pepper and chili peppers, which is thicker and more flavorful than traditional Chicken McNuggets.
Additionally, McDonald’s says that Spicy Nuggets has a responsibility to drive sales in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Q4 2021, McDonald’s U.S. revenue grew 7.5% as a result of rising fast food chain menu prices, digital sales, and fan-favorite menu items such as like the always-popular Crispy Chicken and McRib sandwiches that are usually only available for a limited time.
McDonald’s is known for offering customers limited-time menu items to instantly generate more interest in the company and go viral on social media. Earlier this month, the company announced the return of its Sichuan dipping sauce that has been gone for a considerable time.
