Godolphin reps, finalists for the Eclipse Awards for both Owners and Breeders of Excellence, have many reasons to head to South Florida later this month, not just the January 26 Eclipse Awards ceremony at The Breakers Palm Beach.

Authority January 28 at the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1) at Gulfstream Park. 5 year old half-blood faucet horses are pointed to a 1/8 mile race led by co-invitees electronic knife , out of money and White Abarrio .

Proxy enters the Pegasus World Cup by virtue of his first win at the graded level, a pre-determined three-quarter stretch win over the front runner Western Willpower on November 25 Clark Stakes (G1) at Churchill Downs. More focused than in previous starts when he used to tackle small prizes in the holdings, Proxy got in from the start and slowed the pace.

“He came out of the great Clark and has really trained forward,” trainer Mike Stidham said of the horse’s recent work at Fair Grounds Racecourse & Slots. “Last year to this year, he was just a bigger, stronger, more mature version of his own 3-year-old.”

Stidham said Proxy will have two more jobs at Fair Grounds this month before shipping from Louisiana to Florida on January 22 and galloping at the Gulfstream leading into Pegasus.
