Matthew Wright has best game yet in Japan B.League as Kyoto wins
MANILA, Philippines — Matthew Wright and Kyoto Hannaryz dominated Niigata Albirex, 95-77, thanks to a brilliant match from the Philippines on Saturday in the Japan B. League at the Kyoto City Gymnasium.
Wright eventually found his rhythm in Japan, finishing with 16 points, five assists and three rebounds in an effective 4-to-1 shootout for Kyoto, the overall victory.
Former NBA player Cheick Diallo also scored for Hannaryz with 30 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bobby Ray Parks won his confrontation with Dwight Ramos when the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins buried Levanga Hokkaido, 107-83, at Dolphins Arena.
Despite only scoring 2 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists, Parks and the Dolphins scored a win over Hokkaido, who had 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists from Dwight Ramos.
Coty Clarke raised the score for Nagoya with a brace of 36 points and 11 rebounds.
San-En Neophoenix, meanwhile, overtakes Osaka Evessa, 77-69, at Ookini Arena Maishima.
Thirdy Ravena played the ring champion in San-En’s win with six points and nine assists.
His brother Kiefer, however, did not suffer the same fate on Saturday as his team, the Shiga Lakes lost to the Chiba Jets, 103-59, at Funabishi Arena.
Kiefer counted nine markers, four boards and three dimes in the loss.
At the Hiroshima Sun Plaza shopping mall, Hiroshima Dragonflies soar past Fighting Eagles Nagoya, 65-59.
Justine Baltazar was left out of the field in Hiroshima’s win while Dwayne Evans provided Dragonfly with 24 markers and 12 pounds.
Andrew Randall is the highest scorer for Nagoya with 19 points.
Like Baltazar, Jay Washington also didn’t have time to play in the Ryukyu Golden Kings’ 71-69 win over Akita Northern Happinets at CNA Arena.
Jack Cooley provided Ryukyu with 14 markers and 12 boards.
Stanton Kidd had a double in the losing situation with 25 points and 11 rebounds.
RESULTS Dividing 2
Kobe Paras also made his Altiri Chiba debut in a 75-66 win over Kagawa Five Arrows at Gold’s Gym Makuhari Bay Park Arena.
The former University of the Philippines standout player played 12 minutes while scoring nine marks, two assists and a goal pass for Chiba.
However, Brandon Ashley was the main factor in Chiba’s victory with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks.
In the opposite direction, Kagawa forced Roosevelt Adams off the bench as he finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Rising Zephyr Fukuoka trampled the Fukushima Firebonds, 92-71, at the Fukushima Toyota Crown Arena.
Greg Slaughter is Fukuoka’s top scorer with 10 points, six goals and two assists.
The Nishinomiya Starks defeated Nagasaki Velca by a close 100-95 at the Nishinomiya Central Gymnasium.
Jordan Heading acted as Velca’s silver lining in the loss with 10 points, 5 assists and 4 goals.
